Bill Verplank 2011 IXDA talk
Watch this video of Bill Verplank’s opening keynote talk to the IXDA conference in 2011. Although the talk was 10 years ago, there is still a lot to learn from this legend of the IXD community. Make notes as you watch it. Try to arrange to discuss what you have seen with a fellow student on your course or an interested friend. Note, especially, the way Verplank uses basics sketching to communicate quite complex ideas. Also note his use of note/sketch books.
What do you think are the key points of Verplank’s talk? Make a summary of the key points you have identified. This is a good opportunity to try using visual note-taking techniques and/or sketch notes instead of writing in regular sentences. If you do draw, make sure to scan your images when done and clean them up digitally before posting them. (Min. 300 words or visual equivalent).
